The Madison County African American Historical Association (MCAAHA) has presented its 2025 scholarships to Willa Lewis, a graduate of Madison County High School, and La’Shae Glenn, a graduate of Orange County High School.
Lewis will attend Virginia Commonwealth University this fall, where she plans to study clinical radiation science. Captain of her varsity basketball team, she has committed more than 70 hours to community service while also working part time during high school.
Glenn will attend Old Dominion University, and plans to study business administration. She has served as a longtime volunteer and intern at MCAAHA, assisting with research and building the organization’s library database.
“Both of these young women exemplify the values and dedication that will enable them to succeed and contribute to their communities,” says Mesha Jones, MCAAHA president. “We are very proud of them and wish them well in their academic endeavors.”
